I used to watch the disney channel like everyone else I knew
I saw commercials for pop tarts that were blue
with purple frosting, i wanted them so bad
but plain brown sugar were the only ones we ever had

i wanted to skateboard to be like tony hawk
but i never kicked a flip and felt forever awkward
i wanted spiky hair pointed and colored green
and shoes that would grind on ledges if you know what I mean

I wanted a bigger house
a bigger room
and my own go-kart
the only thing I ever got was a cheap guitar

Now I'm rocking, rocking up the pop charts
